From a small coastal town to India's premier national robotics arena at IIT Bombay. Assembled in a six-day sprint by six twelfth-grade engineers, Team VoltEdge (Team ID 007) re-engineered the competition BaseBot into EdgeBot — a high-torque, sensor-fused machine featuring closed-loop gyroscope stability, autonomous line-following arrays, and custom PWM joystick actuation.

Mohiddin Ahmed Motiya
Directs how VoltEdge is represented to the robotics community, schools, and the public. Coordinates on-field charge feeding and zone communications during live competition rounds.

Designed and programmed the closed-loop autonomous challenge system integrating the infrared sensor array, gyroscope stabilization, and ultrasonic distance braking. Team Origin and Engineering Vision
“VoltEdge began with a moment that was not planned — a message sent on the night of 4 October, just before midterm examinations. Omer reached out to Abdullah with details of the National Robotics League, and within minutes, the idea of forming a team took shape.”

None of us had a robot, a dedicated workshop, or an initial plan, but we had curiosity. Sometimes, that is enough to begin. By 9 October, exactly one day before exams commenced, we registered as Team VoltEdge with Team ID 007, trusting that we would figure out every technical challenge along the way.
When our BaseBot kit finally arrived in Bhatkal on 20 October, the spark turned into commitment. What followed from 22 to 27 October was six days of continuous building — tightening screws, aligning acrylic plates, wiring motor circuits, testing gear response, fixing mistakes, and learning at every single step.
Those six days shaped our identity more than anything else: a team that learns fast, adapts fast, and moves forward no matter how busy life becomes. VoltEdge was never just about assembling a machine. It was about proving that a group of students from a small coastal town could step onto a national arena with confidence. It was about showing younger students that engineering is not far away — it is something they can touch, build, and experience with their own hands.
